          > All Riverside Turf grass is at least one year old before harvesting to ensure a healthy root system and a uniform, dense stand of grass.

          > Before harvesting and delivery Riverside Turf cuts the grass at the farm to a length of no more than 2.75 inches, which helps prevent grass blade breakage and helps sod recover more quickly after installation.

          > Riverside Turf is fortunate to be located along the banks of the James River in Charles City County, where the loamy soil is ideal for sod harvesting and delivery. A more sandy soil will break away from the root system and further stress the grass in transit. A more clay soil will make the rolls have a substantially cleaner cut and hold more moisture.
